Rainbow Loom Flower Charm: This craft is a very simple one! If you make a bunch of these charms, you can even put them on a bracelet!
SUPPLIES: - rainbow loom - hook (I used a metal tipped hook.) - 9 bands of a color (I used green.) - 6 bands of a color (I used yellow.)
DIRECTIONS: 1. First, with your loom's arrows pointing up, lay your first band (I used green) on the middle peg to the left peg as shown below.
2. Next, place the next band (of the same color) going vertically up from the left peg to the peg above it. Then, place the next band going from the top left peg to the middle peg so that your loom looks like this:
3. Now, repeat what you did in the previous step but on the right side! So, lay a band from the middle peg going out to the right. Lay your next one vertically, and then put the next band on diagonally so your loom looks like this:
4. Now using your other color, (I used yellow) lay a band going from the center peg going to the left peg diagonally down as shown below.
5. You can now place the rest of that color of bands (yellow)! Place the bands on going in a counter-clock-wise motion to lay your bands on your loom to create a "star" or "flower".
6. Now place a "cap" band around the center peg and the top peg by wrapping a band of your first color (green) around it twice. (I am pointing to the two pegs that you need to put a cap band on.)
7. So now it's time for the hooking process! First, flip your loom around so that the loom's arrows are pointing down, and using your hook, pull back ONLY the center cap band (picture 1). You can then pull back JUST the first band and hook that to the peg that it is supposed to go on. You can then do this step with all of your bands going clock-wise as shown below (picture 2).
8. You can now go into the bottom cap band, and pull back ONLY the cap band. Then, take just the FIRST band and hook it diagonally to the left like this:
9. From the left peg that we just hooked, pull back the yellow bands and grab the green band underneath. Hook this to the peg above. Now from the top left peg, pull back the yellow two bands and grab the bottom green band. Hook this to the middle peg.
10. Now repeat steps 8 and 9 but on the RIGHT side so that your loom looks like this:
11. We're almost done! Be very careful during these last few steps, but insert your hook through all of the bands on the top peg.
12. Put a band of your first color (green) on your hook and pull it through all of the bands on the top peg. (It might be hard to follow, but you should understand it with the photo below.)
13. You can now tie a slip knot with this band and make sure it is tight enough because if it's not, your whole flower charm could fall apart once we take it off of the loom!
You are now completely finished! You can take it off of your loom and now you have a pretty flower charm!
